Alexander W. Hobson is the reproduction Shaker Boxmaker in residence at the Oakville Shaker Works.

Alexander is a carpenter/cabinetmaker by trade and completed a formal apprenticeship with his father as a carpenter/cabinetmaker.  He practiced his craft for many years, doing work ranging from building houses, to veneering cabinets.  His interest in woodworking extends to learning about the great master violin makers, tool makers of the past, Japanese tools and their makers and all aspects of working with wood.. 

The Oakville Shaker Works is located in the small community of Bronte, located in

Oakville Ontario Canada, a city rich in Pioneer history.
